...sniff.....

This was my weekend: sore throat, sick kid, tired, a too-complicated but very tasty Shabbat dinner, 90 minutes at the must-attend dance party thrown by my husband's boss , trying to do internet research on best practices in ESL grammar instruction which was thwarted by a cafe without wifi, a meeting with other parents, not having to teach Shabbat School because by then I felt so awful, lots of mindless computer mahjongg, many hours in an oversized sweater and my giant Punjabi pants, tea, more tea, The Darjeeling Limited, a brief foray out to deliver MonkeyBoy to a makeup Hebrew lesson and restock the sickroom supplies, a very friendly man with a giant barbecue who insisted I eat his chicken (and it wasn't really all that bad), more attempts at internet research, a frantic email to the rabbi as I realized we don't actually have the right information about MonkeyBoy's bar mitzvah Torah readings, more tea, fitful stuffy-nosed attempts at sleep, more tea, more failed attempts at research, running kids hither and yon, more tea, and finally the realization that this is what sick days are for so a night at home, too congested to sleep but at least cozy and relaxed.

Oh, I'm so sorry to hear you were sick, especially when you had so much to do! But I'm glad you're cozy and took tonight off. Healing thoughts to you.
